Educational Objectves

In Mr. Patterson's instrumental classes, grades 4-6 students are learning all the basics of how to play their instruments. Some of the basics they will be learning are breath support, correct posture, correct embouchure (mouth position), and correct hand position. Students daily responsibilities include daily practicing, proper care of their instruments and commitment to school rehearsals. The culmination of all this work and fun will be performances by the students at a Winter and Spring concert. We hope to see everyone there!

In Mr. Patterson's instrumental classes, grades 7-8 students continue to develop their mastery in technical abilities, musicianship, rhythm, and musical appreciation. Through daily instruction, and performances quarterly, the students demonstrate their proficiency in concerts. The Middle School students participate in graded Musical Festivals for large groups as well as solo and ensembles groups.
